The mud is stirring. The pitchforks are rising. And the kingdom’s days may finally be numbered.
Medieval metal miscreants NETHERWILDS have released their defiant new single “The Fall,” the latest offering from their forthcoming debut album, Peasant Rising, arriving October 9th via King Volume Records.
Following the drunken revelry of “Helm Yeah,” “The Fall” returns Worm Chewer to a far more serious matter: revolution.
What began as the daily misery of one downtrodden peasant searching for his goat has grown into something much larger. Years of toil, taxation, hunger and humiliation beneath the boot of the ruling class have taken their toll, and across the villages, a dangerous idea is beginning to spread, that perhaps kings and castles are not as permanent as they appear.
With “The Fall,” NETHERWILDS turn that growing unrest into a battle cry. Dark, imposing and steeped in medieval atmosphere, the track captures the moment resignation gives way to resistance and the peasants begin looking beyond mere survival toward the possibility of taking their fate into their own hands.
Worm Chewer warns:
“Every kingdom must fall. Whispered on the lips of my fellow peasants, stamped into the muck of my village - this truth carries us forward for the day when justice finally arrives. Grab a pitchfork my friend, The Fall is coming.”
